ThinkFirst Saskatoon

about us

Think First Saskatoon Chapter was started in 1997 and we began doing school presentations early in 1998. Through the hard work and dedication of committed volunteers we present to over 4000 students each school year. Our volunteers include health professionals who are registered nurses and therapists, and brain and spinal cord injury survivors.

what we do

The primary focus of our chapter is in-school brain and spinal cord injury prevention presentations to students from kindergarten to grade 12. Our presentations are provided free of charge at the request of educators or community organizations. We also participate in community events where our message fits, such as Brain Blast during Brain Awareness Week.

success stories

  • Between March and June, 2010, ThinkFirst Saskatoon has:
      • Recruited two new Voices of Injury Prevention
      • Visited seven schools
      • Delivered 20 presentations
      • Presented to 720 students
      • Distributed 15 helmets
  • Brain Blast 2010 - this event was a great success for ThinkFirst Saskatoon. Children learned about the fragility of the brain from Saskatoon's egg drop presentation and Jell-o brain.
